AI for Amazon Sellers: Amazon's AI Tools, ChatGPT and Claude
Amazon builds AI into Seller Central, and ChatGPT and Claude help with copy and analysis. This guide shows which AI tools Amazon offers sellers, what general AI assistants do well, where AI answers need checking and how to analyze your own sales data with an AI assistant.
Amazon sellers use AI in three ways: Amazon's own AI tools in Seller Central, general AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude, and AI assistants connected to the seller's own sales data. Each group solves a different problem.
This guide explains which AI tools Amazon offers sellers, how sellers use ChatGPT and Claude, where AI answers need checking and how to analyze your own Amazon data with an AI assistant.

AI tools for Amazon sellers in Seller Central and Amazon Ads
Amazon builds AI into Seller Central and Amazon Ads. Availability differs by country: some tools work in the US and Germany, others so far only in the US or a few countries.
Seller Assistant in Seller Central: free, rolled out to over 90% of sellers worldwide
Canvas in Seller Assistant: US and UK
AI listing creation in Seller Central: US, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and UK
Enhance My Listing in Seller Central: US
AI for A+ Content in the A+ Content Manager: US, select English-language modules
Image generator and Video Generator in Amazon Ads Creative Studio: US, Germany and other countries
Seller Assistant
Seller Assistant is Seller Central's agentic assistant. According to Amazon, Seller Assistant helps you "find answers, understand your business, and get things done in Seller Central—just by asking in plain language." Seller Assistant accesses information across Seller Central, including your account and business data. With your permission, Seller Assistant also takes actions, such as monitoring account health, resolving stranded inventory or creating support cases.
Seller Assistant is free. In September 2026, Amazon reported that Seller Assistant's capabilities had rolled out to over 90% of selling partners worldwide in each seller's native language. Primary users have full access; other users need the “Seller Assistant” permission with “Edit” access under Settings → User permissions. Amazon also warns that "AI is experimental and can make mistakes" and recommends verifying answers with the source links in each answer.
For sellers in the US and UK, Amazon added canvas in March 2026: canvas pairs your question with a Seller Assistant response and a visual output such as tables, charts, summary insights and recommendations. Amazon announced more countries and languages for later in 2026, and the German Seller Central help already describes canvas.
AI listing creation
When you add a product in Seller Central, Amazon's generative AI creates listing content from a few words or a product image. In the US, a URL from your own website also works. Sellers in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK have had access to the generative AI listing tools since June 2024. Amazon makes you responsible for the result: "If you use the content proposed by gen AI, you agree that you’ve reviewed it, and that it’s accurate, complete, and compliant with all applicable laws and Amazon policies".
For existing listings, Amazon is rolling out Enhance My Listing to US sellers. Enhance My Listing suggests titles, attributes, descriptions and missing details that you can review, customize or decline. Amazon also announced the tool in the German Seller Central forum in October 2025 without naming a marketplace. Brand Registered sellers in the US can also generate text and images for select English-language A+ Content modules.
If a product image or video shows a photorealistic AI-generated person, Amazon requires the keyword contains-synthetic-performer in the file's metadata before you upload the image or video.
AI tools in Amazon Ads
In Amazon Ads, Creative Studio includes a free image generator that creates lifestyle and brand-themed images from product details, and a Video Generator that turns an ASIN into Sponsored Brands video ads. Both tools are available in the US, Germany and other countries.
How Amazon sellers use ChatGPT and Claude
General AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude are good at language tasks and at working with material you provide. Typical tasks for Amazon sellers:
Draft listing copy: give the assistant your product facts and ask for a title, bullet points or a product description. Check every statement against your product before you publish. Our article on listing optimization on Amazon shows what a strong listing needs.
Find patterns in customer feedback: paste reviews or customer questions and ask for recurring complaints, praise and open questions. The result shows where the listing or the product needs work.
Collect keyword ideas: an AI assistant suggests related terms and customer wording. The assistant does not see Amazon's search data, so validate the ideas with the Search Query Performance dashboard or the Amazon Search Terms report in Amazon Brand Analytics.
Analyze exported reports: upload or paste a report from Seller Central and ask questions about the report. The answers are only as current and complete as the export, so every new question about newer data needs a new export.
Example prompts without a data connection:
“Write an Amazon title and five bullet points from these product facts: [facts]. Use only these facts.”
“Here are 50 reviews of my product. Group the complaints by topic and count how often each topic appears.”
Where AI answers need checking
Plausible but wrong answers: AI assistants can produce answers that look correct and are still wrong. Anthropic, for example, writes that Claude "can write things that might look correct but are very mistaken" and that users "should not rely on Claude as a singular source of truth". Check figures, product claims and policy statements before you act on an answer.
No view of your account: without a connection, ChatGPT and Claude do not see your Seller Central data. The assistant knows only what you paste, upload or connect.
Snapshots instead of current data: a pasted report shows the period of the export. Trends over several months or comparisons across marketplaces need several exports and manual work.
Analyze your Amazon data with ChatGPT and Claude
For questions about your own business, an AI assistant needs access to your data. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that connects AI assistants to external data sources and tools.
With the sellerfox MCP server for Amazon sellers, Claude, ChatGPT and other compatible AI assistants read your sellerfox Workspace: sales and traffic, advertising, profit, keyword rankings, the Search Query Performance Report (SQPR), listing events and the Best Seller Rank (BSR). You connect Seller Central to sellerfox once and don't need CSV exports or your own Amazon API credentials. The access is read-only: the assistant can read data but cannot create, change or delete anything in your Workspace. An Owner or Admin enables MCP access for each Workspace, and only Owners and Admins can connect an AI assistant to the Workspace. For ChatGPT, there is an official sellerfox plugin.
Amazon also builds connections between seller data and AI assistants. In September 2026, Amazon announced the Amazon Selling Partner plugin, which connects a seller's Amazon data to Amazon Quick and, in beta, to Anthropic's Claude. The plugin is in beta for sellers in Amazon's US stores. For advertisers and developers, Amazon offers MCP servers: the Amazon Ads MCP Server, in open beta, connects AI agents to Amazon Ads API functions and needs active Ads API credentials, and the local MCP for the SP-API needs your own SP-API credentials for live requests. Our article Connect Amazon Seller Central to Claude and ChatGPT compares these options and shows the setup step by step.
What the sellerfox MCP server adds
The sellerfox MCP server gives your AI assistant data beyond Amazon's sales and advertising figures:
Profit including your costs: sellerfox loads revenue, Amazon fees, advertising costs and refunds from Amazon. You add your COGS and other income and expenses in sellerfox. Answers about profit therefore include your purchase prices, broken down by marketplace, product or SKU.
Ratings over time: for products with review tracking, sellerfox records the average rating and the rating count every day. The assistant sees which products lost stars and when.
Rankings and changes: organic and sponsored rankings of your tracked keywords, the daily Best Seller Rank (BSR) history and listing events such as listing changes and Buy Box losses.
Available in Europe and in ChatGPT: Amazon's Selling Partner plugin is a US beta for Amazon Quick and Claude. The sellerfox MCP server covers the active marketplaces of your Workspace and works with Claude, ChatGPT and other compatible AI assistants.
Questions you can ask once the assistant is connected to sellerfox:
“Which five products lost the most profit compared with the previous month, and which cost items explain the drop?”
“For which tracked keywords did the product family of ASIN B0XXXXXXXX on amazon.com lose organic rankings in the last 14 days? List the listing events from the same period.”
“According to SQPR, which search queries had a high search volume last month but a low share of clicks for my products?”
“Which of my tracked products on amazon.com lost stars this month, and did the conversion rate change in the same period?”
FAQ: AI for Amazon sellers
Which AI tools does Amazon offer sellers?
In Seller Central, Amazon offers Seller Assistant, a free agentic assistant, and generative AI that creates listing content for new products. Amazon Ads adds a free image generator and a Video Generator. Some features, such as canvas, Enhance My Listing and AI for A+ Content, are so far limited to the US or to select countries.
Can ChatGPT access my Seller Central data?
Not without a connection. ChatGPT knows only what you paste, upload or connect. The official sellerfox plugin for ChatGPT connects ChatGPT to your sellerfox Workspace with read-only access.
Can I use AI to write Amazon listings?
Yes. Amazon offers AI listing tools in Seller Central, and ChatGPT or Claude can draft copy from your product facts. Either way, you are responsible for the result: if you use content proposed by Amazon's generative AI, you confirm that you reviewed the content and that the content is accurate, complete and compliant with all applicable laws and Amazon policies.
ChatGPT or Claude: which AI assistant is better for Amazon sellers?
Both assistants handle drafts and analyses. Both connect to sellerfox through MCP: Claude as a custom connector, ChatGPT through the official sellerfox plugin. The choice therefore depends on the assistant your team already uses. For US sellers, Amazon's Selling Partner plugin also connects Amazon data to Claude in beta, not to ChatGPT.
Conclusion: AI helps when the AI assistant knows your data
Amazon's AI tools work inside Seller Central, and ChatGPT and Claude speed up copy and analysis. The answers become specific to your business once the AI assistant reads your own sales, profit, ranking and rating data.
