BSR Explorer
The BSR Explorer shows your products' current sales ranks in Amazon categories and up to twelve months of history. Best Seller Rank (BSR) describes a product's position within a category: a lower number means a better rank.
Owners, Admins, and Viewers can open the BSR Explorer. Only Owners and Admins can add custom events from the chart. See Permissions.
Where BSR data comes from
sellerfox updates sales ranks once a day through SP-API.
- Amazon does not provide historical BSR data through SP-API. The BSR history in sellerfox therefore starts with the first reading after workspace onboarding is complete. sellerfox cannot load earlier ranks.
- Each marketplace has a separate rank history. For example, an ASIN can rank differently on amazon.de and amazon.fr.
Depending on the category, Amazon assigns a shared Best Seller Rank (BSR) to the product family or separate ranks to individual variations.
Read the overview
The overview shows one row per product family and marketplace. sellerfox groups the variations under the parent. Each rank column shows the best available rank across the parent and variations. If all products in the family have the same rank, the overview shows that shared value.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| “Product” | image, name, type, marketplace, ASIN, and SKUs |
| “Sales 30D” | product family revenue for the 30 days up to the overview date, in the workspace's target currency |
| “Main BSR Rank” | best available main-category rank across the product family |
| “Main BSR 7d Change” | change in main-category rank compared with roughly a week earlier |
| “Main Category” | the category the shown main rank belongs to |
| “Top Sub-Category” | the first subcategory Amazon returns, not necessarily the one with the best rank |
| “Main BSR 30d Trend” | main-category rank over the last 30 days, with the change from the first to the last point alongside; for product families, the trend covers only the parent |
For product families, the trend shows only the parent
“Main BSR Rank” shows the best available rank across the parent and variations. “Main BSR 30d Trend” shows only the parent's rank history. If a variation ranks better than the parent, the rank column therefore shows a better value than the last point in the trend chart.
Products without a current reading that includes a main-category rank are missing from the overview. You can still open stored histories through “View BSR history” on the product detail page.
A negative 7-day change means an improvement toward rank 1 and appears in green. A dash means the rank is unchanged or a reading needed for the comparison is missing.
Revenue and rank are updated separately and may reflect different update times.
The overview initially sorts by “Sales 30D”. You can also sort by “Main BSR Rank”, “Main BSR 7d Change”, and “Top Sub-Category”.
Filter and open a product
Use “Product list” to narrow the table to all products, a temporary product selection, or a saved product list. See Products & product lists. The “Marketplaces” row appears only when the workspace has more than one active marketplace. Apply your choice with “Apply filter”; “Reset filter” clears both filters.
Select a row to open the displayed product's rank history. For product families, the detail view opens the parent's rank history. Switch between the parent and its variations in the top right, where “P” marks the parent and “C” each variation. “Go to Product Detail” opens the selected ASIN's product detail page.
Read the rank chart
Above the chart, sellerfox shows the latest ranks in the main category and up to three subcategories. You can open linked categories on Amazon.
Choose the chart period with “30 Days”, “90 Days”, “6 Months”, or “12 Months”. Each control also shows the main-rank change over that period. If a reading needed for the comparison is missing, the control shows no change value.
A summary above the chart can name notable rank changes along with Product KPIs that moved noticeably over the same period. The summary places them side by side because they coincide in time, not because one caused the other.
The chart places rank 1 at the top. Each point represents a stored reading. Days without a reading have no point. The solid line shows the main-category rank. Use the legend to show subcategory ranks as dashed lines.
Use “Add KPI” in the “Product KPIs” bar to compare product metrics with the rank history. When you open the parent, the Product KPIs cover the entire product family. The rank history still shows only the parent.
Under “Advanced chart settings” you can show events with their labels and put KPIs that share a unit on one axis. Owners and Admins add a custom event for a day by selecting a point in the chart.
What the BSR Explorer does not do
- The BSR Explorer shows the latest stored reading, not a live copy of the Amazon product page.
- No export is available. Export your data lists the views that offer one.
